Textainer began operations in 1979 and has since become the world’s largest holder of intermodal containers when compared to the size of the fleet. Textainer has more than of 1.6 million containers, representing 2.4 million TEU. Textainer leases its containers to more than 400 shipping lines. These leases include standard dry freight and dry freight special containers as well as refrigerated containers.
