Adapt to Survive

Action on the other side of the island is more intense, the battles are fierce, and the mission protocol is no longer "Adapt to Survive". As Sergeant Sykes, now you must adapt to dominate the battle. Summary: EA Support is HORRIBLE!
Comment: Crysis Warhead is pretty decent. Crysis Wars, not so much so. The biggest problem is that the game is almost impossible to run on anything better than "good performance" mode. Having 1GB of GPU memory, 4GB of RAM & a Quad core CPU running at 3.6GHz, one would think that you could crank up the quality. Not so. The game becomes VERY unstable and crashes randomly.

EA Support's solution? Clear your temporary files folder, turn down the DirectX audio quality as low as possible and run the game in "best performance" mode. In other words, run the game in the crappiest mode possible and stop bothering them because the software is unstable which would lead one to surmise that the programming is poor at best. Yet another reason for me not to buy another EA game. UbiSoft games never game me the problems I've had with EA brand games.

Summary: Just a PR move to make $$
Comment: Warhead is really just a Crysis mod. Strangely it feels more linear than Crysis. Everyone is better off just going to crymod and getting mods for free if they have the full version of Crysis. My conclusion is that I should have bought Left 4 Dead instead since this is a repackaged version of Crysis.

So what I liked about it was that the enemies seem to be more densely placed so that it makes for better fights when you come up on their posts. That is about it...the rest of it is = to Crysis.

What I don't like is the lack novelty and how it feels like an alternative version of the original Crysis storyline. The story is different but somehow takes you through very similar environments in a very similar order. Jungle, Tank driving, Frozen area, back to the stormy mountain...blah blah... The Cryengine2 is very capable game engine and I think they are just not using it creatively.

This game is mildly entertaining...it is not bad at all but it doesn't have that wow factor that it should have. It is just disappointing to me because it should have been part of Crysis rather than a separate $30 release. The thing with Crysis and Warhead is that the wow factor comes from the game engine and not the game play. It would be nice to see Crytek fix this and bring something new to the table and Warhead is not it.

Summary: Very fun, although very similar to the original Crysis
Comment: This is a very fun sequel to Crysis. While not a normal sequel, this is a parallel adventure. This game is graphic intensive and the Multi-Player is identical to the original Multi-Player.
