Summary: A bargain!
Comment: You certainly can't go wrong as far as price is concerned. It has a perfect size, it repels water, it's basic black, and it's sturdy. As far as handle odor, I have to get it close to my nose, I haven't noticed it smelling up a whole room as some have stated here. It will get on your hands, but easily washes off. I'm betting the rubber odor, like new tires on a car, will disappear.

Comment: Warning - this umbrella handle seems to be made of a tire composite material and even after we've had it opened for 4 weeks - it still smells really bad. Make anything it touches smell. We told them we wanted to return it,but Amazon just gave us credit for it and said to toss it.

Comment: DEFINITELY worth the money. This is a great umbrella, especially for the money. However I must agree with the other reviews, the handle does have a chemical smell. It does get better with time though. I'd buy it again.

Summary: OK UMBRELLA NEEDS WORK
Comment: OK Big umbrella. Cheap. YES the handle smells very bad, so remove it. I cut mine off immediately and sanded the glue off. [ I think the GLUE is what stinks.] This cut the stench down to about 90%. Is still a bit smelly but I can handle it and think it will go away in time.
I think I am going to hot glue a chunk of bamboo on for the new handle or maybe use a old mountain bike grip after expanding the skinny fiber glass handle with duck tape or the like.
