The Harmony 880 Advanced Universal Remote puts you in control of your entire audio-video system with just one button. It's home entertainment the way it should be - simple. Optimized for complicated HDTV and PVR systems, the Harmony 880 helps you tame tough configurations like switching your television between video aspect ratios depending on the program source. The interactive color display lets you quickly choose a 16: 9 ratio for movies and HDTV, or a standard 4: 3 ratio for basic television programming.

Customer Rating: Summary: Very, very bad product design Comment: Logitech really missed the mark here. What a bunch of knuckle draggers they must have had working on this. Just about anything that could be badly done when designing a remote was done here. The little screen uses fonts which are blurry at the resolution the screen displays. The icons on the screen interfere with readability of the text to make it almost illegible. The numeric buttons are too tightly packed to be able to effectively use them in the dark. The layout of the buttons requires that you shift your grip up and down the remote for related functions, such as displaying a channel guide, paging through it, viewing info on an item, and making a selection. The charging station requires that the remote sit so precisely in position that it seems just a gentle breeze could cause a shift and stop the charging. And the build quality--at least that of my remote--is very bad. The rocker button in the center of the remote requires much more force pushing on the right side of it than the left. The numeric keys down the left side of the remote take so much pressure to work them that it is difficult to not press more than one at a time. Finally, although the software is very intelligent about a great many devices and their interactions in a systematic way, it requires that you create a user account on Logitech's web site to program the remote. It was no trouble to enter fake credentials and a junk email address but still, come on, a user account?
All in all, Logitech did a horrible job with this remote. There's not much else about it that could have been poorer.
Customer Rating: Summary: Graet remote........easy set up Comment: I set up the remote today and so far it works wonderful. Set up took about ten minutes! Amazing.....I bought this remote not because it can control up to 15 devices, but because it has a rechargable battery. I only control four devices.
Customer Rating: Summary: Must have remote, well worth the money Comment: This remote works great if you have people in or visiting your house that have no idea how to switch your entertainment system between cable, dvd, video games, cds, etc. The remote turns on the correct components, changes the input settings and switches the volume control to the correct device for the activity you just selected. It is easy to program via your computer and you can customize every possible aspect, down to reassigning what each button does. The only potential complaint I have is that the volume and channel up/down buttons are a little too small, but other than that it works great. With the charging system, you don't even have to buy batteries.
Customer Rating: Summary: great remote Comment: I never thought I would be so excited about a tv remote but this thing is better than I ever hoped. It is very easy to set up and even easier to use. My wife even likes it and she is not a fan of all my electronic goodies so she was the ultimate test and it passed with flying colors. One touch of "watch tv" or "watch dvd" and this remote does the rest it is simply a great tool if you have several things to control.
Customer Rating: Summary: The first truly universal remote we've owned Comment: The remote is great for replacing the big basket of remotes that formerly graced our mantle top. The customization seems to work well and the remote is fairly intuitive with the button layout. I love that it lights up as soon as you pick it up so that if the room is dark you can see the buttons. I'll give it 5 stars for being truly universal. The real test will be if our babysitter can just pick it up and work everything.
Programming the remote is only fair. You have to be prepared to play around a bit with the set up and I find it strange that you have to log in each time to update your remote. I was tempted to lower my overall rating to 4 stars because the software is not outstanding, but I am so grateful that I can actually use just a single remote that I have to give more weight to that factor.
