Summary: Switches get sticky
Comment: I've burned through two of these lamps in years past and now I'm debating with myself about a third. I KNOW that in several years, the push-button switches will become so sticky from daily hand goo that they will stop functioning. So the excellent price here for this lamp loses some of it luster if you understand it's good for only two to three years. There is no way to break down the lamp to clean the works. I extended the life of the second lamp by pouring a bit of alcohol into the switches and then pushing them multiple times, but they still seized up finally. In desperation, I've left the fluorescent light on permanently which has added further years to the lamp's use, but the bulb just blew, and removing it cracked the connection housing.
Once you experience the quality of the light given off by these combo incandescent/fluorescent lamps, other desk lamps are just unacceptable. So I MUST resupply myself. Far as I can tell, all these combo lamps have the same kind of push-button switches, so I will look for the ability to access the inner workings so they can be cleaned. This model will not permit that.

Comment: I love my lamp, the arm can reach very far and it helps me see better when I'm painting. Okay, so the incandescent bulb that it shipped with did explode once when I was using it. But I live in an old Edwardian building, it could have been spirits trying to contact me. SO anyway, yes, I love my lamp.
