Editorial Reviews:

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is a polyunsaturated fatty acid found in deep-sea cold water fish. DHA is an essential nutrient for proper brain, nervous system, and visual function and must be obtained through the diet. A healthy balance of DHA is essential to properly care for the brain throughout life, particularly during the early stages of development. A high concentration of DHA can be found in mothers breast milk. However, the level is directly related to the amount of omega-3 fatty acids that are consumed in the mothers diet. Due to refined foods and trendy diets, many individuals have reduced their intake of the dietary sources of omega-3 fatty acids, contributing to lower levels of DHA in breast milk. The impact of low DHA intake on neurological function of adults and children is the subject of ongoing clinical investigations.

Summary: Both kids love them!
Comment: Both kids (2 and 4) take these every day and LOVE them. My 2yr old asks for more "balls". They are just fun...they pop when you chew them and it's the liquid oil that tastes like strawberry. If you taste the liquid version it tastes just as "strawberrish". Very pleasant taste. The gell shell takes a second to chew but disolves quickly. All around great product.

Summary: Strawberry Squeeze
Comment: My three-year-old has been taking these for a couple of years. We call it her "strawberry squeeze." I always coupled it with a Flintstones sour gummy vitamin, but she had to take the DHA first. When she was littler, I'd squirt into her mouth, and she didn't like it much. But a little operational conditioning (the yummy vitamin), and she thinks these are candy today!

Summary: Our kids love these, too.
Comment: Our daughters, 8 and 4, really love these, too, and will ask for them. They call them squishies. We like to take them together with a little Organic Valley "pasture butter" when we have it, which also dispels any fishy flavor. (Trying to follow Sally Fallon's recommendation somewhat, though of course she would recommend unpasteurized butter)My advice to the parent with the 17 year old and the 9 year old is to let her kids actually try them! If they suck on them first and don't just bite them, more strawberry flavor will be released before the very mild fish oil comes out. Anyway, the 17 year old could probably just swallow them whole with water.

Summary: Definitely no "burst" of STRAWBERRY flavor!
Comment: From the description these sounded much more like an actual chewable. These look just like a small, round vitamin E. I tested this before I tried coaxing my kids. I bit into it and it burst fish oil into my mouth! No, not the strongest fish oil ever, and yes there was some "essence" of strawberry there, but the chances of my kids attempting to chew these are NIL. I bought two bottles and I guess I will have to take them myself (and I WON'T be chewing them). I will go back to whatever brand it was I found at Target that was a chewable and I could get my 9- and 17-year old daughters to take them without a fight. Those were also less than half the price. Can't find them online, only in store.

Summary: 4 year old tested
Comment: I just handed two of these to my 4 year old and said, "Try these". She chewed them up and asked if she could have more. I told her she could have them every morning and she seemed pleased. I guess that is the best review I can give!
