Editorial Reviews:

Two episodes from the popular Nickelodeon Jr. show explore musical themes. In "Blue Wants to Play a Song Game," our intrepid Steve uncovers Blue's clues for what song she wants to play. Several nursery rhyme songs are featured along with examples of music in nature. The latter theme is explored further in "Music in a Everyday Way." Music is discovered in jars of water, sticks on the floor, and animal sounds. Even the thinking chair becomes a musical instrument. The sound and rhyme matching will make this video hold up to repeated plays quite well. --Doug Thomas

Summary: Make music with Blue
Comment: This is another fun video from the early days of Blue's Clues. Blue leads Steve on a "clue hunt" and we learn a lot about instruments and music and rythms. This is a great way to introduce your toddlers to the concept of rythm.

Summary: Best Blue Clues' episode for Toddlers
Comment: "Rhythm & Blue"...it's right there in the title! Parents of toddlers will appreciate this, and your toddlers will especially appreciate this particular Blues' Video as it consists of rhymes, songs, and learning rhythm.
I think this is the only Blues' Clues' video that toddlers really get any education out of. The rest are fun, but because this is made up of all music and rhyming, I think and know from my own experience, that a toddler really can love and learn(without realizing) from this.

Blue wants to play a song game, a rousing "blues clues" game helps figure it out!
Also she wants to do an inside(it's raining out) musical thing, hence the other episode on the tape begins...
It's all great fun hearing and singing(yes, even I sang along!) to "two little monkeys", "if you're happy and you know it", "the itsy bitsy spider", and "head, shoulders, knees, and toes".

Highly recommending this one!!

Comment: I must say that I never cared for this one until my sister-in-law watched it and laughed at the "Hello Monkey" part. Ever since then, I actully enjoy watching the Rhythm and Blue tape. As for my 16 month old, well she enjoys any Blue's Clues episode as long as Steve is there; which means she enjoys all of them. As long as she's happy, who can complain?

Summary: Itsy Bitsy Spiders rule!
Comment: My daughter has loved Blues Clues since she was about 8 months old. She loves this video as well as Blues Birthday because of all the singing. I like this one because it goes through many of the rhymes I am trying to teach her. She's catching on very fast and I think its because of the video. Plus-it makes us both smile!!
