America's #1 bestselling thriller writer, James Patterson presents his most suspenseful, explosive tale ever. Only an hour out of port, the Dunne family's summer getaway to paradise is already turning into the trip from hell. The three children are miserable-and not shy about showing it. Katherine Dunne had hoped this vacation would bring back the togetherness they'd lost when her husband died four years earlier. Maybe if her new husband had joined them it would all have been okay.

Suddenly, a disaster hits-and it's perfect. Faced with this real threat, the Dunnes rediscover the meaning of family. But this catastrophe is just a tiny taste of the true danger that lurks ahead-somewhere out there, someone wants to make sure that the Dunne family never leaves paradise alive.

Summary: The Patterson name must be a stamp
Comment: James Patterson has written some memorable thrillers but Sail seems to be written by a ghost writer who is new (or tired) of the genre and pushed to this book on the masses using the Patterson label. Don't get me wrong, this is a quick and easy read, but the characters never seem to grasp the readers interest. The scene is set when the dad is killed in a sailing accident and the family tumbles into chaos. The mother is a character that should have been written out of the story. The dialog seems to date back to the Twenties and the characters are all flat. Does this sound like the Patterson we know? I've given it three stars but could easily understand someone giving it one star - what I can't understand is someone giving it five stars. Unless you just have to read everything Patterson...I'd say skip it and read "Sirens" by Tin Geo: Sirens: A Novel A novel I devoured in two days.

Summary: Best book I've ever read
Comment: Got this book in the mail yesterday...finished it today. This is the fastest I've ever read any book. From start to finish the story is packed full of action going from one twist to another making it extremely difficult to put it down.

Comment: James Patterson -- what can I say. He is a wonderful writer. Without a doubt, thoroughly entertaining. I liked all of his books -- not so much Daniel X. I will read all of his books.
